My approach to getting some level of fitness back My approach to getting some level of fitness back is to start with a lot of walking.

It's time consuming but the low impact and easy recovery fits well with me.

Currently I can just about run a mile non-stop but all the asking I've done feels like it's strengthening my legs and lungs pretty well.

Tonight's effort then was an experiment, 5 mins walk, 2 mins run and just repeat for as long as possible.

Turns out out was a relatively moderate effort to get my first 13 miler in about a year done in 2h 51min. Added all up there was 48 mins of running.

All off road, hills, bumpy field fields etc. Great for leg muscles. The ultra well happen this year.
